ITEC Diploma in Indian Head Massage

Pre-requisite:
  • ITEC Anatomy and Physiology Diploma & Unit 22- Other qualifications recognised by ITEC are confirmed as accredited prior learning and graded as a pass (including ITEC pre 2000)

This course teaches a safe, simple yet effective treatment which can be carried out in many settings, e.g. the workplace, as the client is seated and clothed. Both traditional Indian and Western techniques are combined to promote hair growth, and provide relief from aches, pains and symptoms of stress.

Students will study:
  • History
  • Contraindications
  • Benefits
  • Client care, hair and scalp disorders
  • Stress management
  • Chakras
Practical sessions:

Include consultation and head, face, neck, upper arm and upper back massage. Students will gain experience in using traditional Indian oils and essential oils to enhance the massage.

Examination:
  • Theory paper – 25 multiple choice questions
Practical examination:
  • Treatment (30 minutes)
Case Studies:
  • Three people (3 treatments each)

  • £276 + examination fee
  • Autumn 2010 beginning Sunday 10th October (6 days over 3 months) - examinations January 2011
