These 3 aspects comprise the foundation for all the other ITEC complementary therapy courses and are integrated into a course designed to give thorough background knowledge as well as the confidence to begin professional therapy work.
Anatomy, physiology & pathology units are taught in the morning and can be taken separately. Body Massage with the remaining units can also be taken separately.

Students will study:
  • All body systems and their disorders
  • Contraindications and benefits of massage
  • Other complementary therapies
  • Professional ethics and the Law
  • Hygiene, first aid and safety
  • Creating your business plan
Practical sessions:
  • Swedish massage movements for a whole body treatment
  • Review of case studies
  • Further off-syllabus techniques
Examination:
  • Anatomy & Physiology theory paper (50 multiple choice questions)
  • Practical exam- 45 minutes
Case Studies:
  • 6 Clients (2 treatments each)
Assignments:
  • Less Common Pathology for Complementary Therapies
  • Principles & Practice for Complementary Therapies
  • Business Practice for Complementary Therapies
  • Health, Safety & Hygiene for Complementary Therapies
Practical Assignment
  • 18 massage treatments (6 clients x 3)
Optional Assignment
  • Healthy Eating & Well Being
