ITEC Sports massage

Pre-requisite:

• ITEC Holistic Massage Diploma or equivalent

This course will provide treatments for sports injuries and help improve an athlete's performance by using various massage techniques.  Once qualified the therapist will be able to run their own practice, work in Health Clubs, Gyms, Spas and on Cruise Liners.

Students will study:

• Additional Anatomy & Physiology
• Types of injuries
• Psychological reasons for injury
• Injury prevention
• Sports nutrition

Practical sessions will include:

• Injury assessment
• Treatment of acute and chronic injuries
• Specific sports massage techniques
• Pre and post event massage
• Stretching and exercises

Examination:

• Theory paper - 50 multiple choice questions

Practical examination:

• Consultation, assessment, treatment plan and treatment (1 hour)

Case Studies:

• 5 people ( 3 treatments each)

Cost:

• £455 + £75 examination fee
